American Visionary Art Museum, Baltimore Overview

Located in the neighborhood of Federal Hill in Baltimore, Maryland, American Visionary Art Museum is renowned for being the official museum for self-taught art in the country. The museum displays and preserves art that are made by outsiders.

It also features a 55-foot tall sculpture that was created by a 76-year-old farmer, Vollis Simpson from North Carolina, a 16-foot Lusitania display that is made solely from toothpicks, unique assemblage models, beautiful drawings, and various other arts and sculptures. The museum hosts several events throughout the year, so visitors must make sure to check out the events calendar before their visit.
