If planning to visit Auli, your most probably will be reaching from Delhi or Badrinath.

From Delhi

The best way to reach Auli is to take a bus from Delhi to Rishikesh. This is an overnight journey.
From Rishikesh, either you can take a private cab direct to Auli (9 hours) or a shared taxi till Joshimath (8 hours). A more fun way would be to take a shared cab till Joshimath and from there, get on the Second Longest Cable Car in India from Joshimath to Auli. This cable car is 16 km long, takes 22 minutes, and blesses you with breathtaking views of the Garhwal Ranges of the Himalayas and then take a cab from Rishikesh to Joshimath.

Do remember that cab/bus operators do not drive after sunset on the roads between Rishikesh and Joshimath, they might promise you but it is risky.

From Badrinath

Many cabs carry passengers from Badrinath to Auli. The Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun is the closest airport.

From Joshimath

The Cable Car ride is available between Joshimath and Auli at a cost of INR 700 per person

The nearest airport to Auli is Jolly Grant airport of Dehradun. From Dehradun, it is most convenient to travel by taxi or catch a bus to Auli. The bus takes you to Joshimath only, from Joshimath you are required to reach Auli by ropeway or by road. Travelling by ropeway is time-saving and more exciting.

You are required to catch a bus or taxi to Joshimath in order to reach Auli. Joshimath is well-connected from the major cities of Uttarakhand such as Dehradun, Rishikesh, and Haridwar. Buses are also available from Delhi to Joshimath. From Joshimath, Auli lies at a distance of 10 km and you need to cover this distance by ropeway or by road.

How to reach Auli by train

The nearest railway station to Auli is Haridwar railway station which is situated 273 km away from Auli. Dehradun and Rishikesh railway stations are also considered as the nearest railway heads to Auli. From Haridwar, you can catch a bus plying to Auli or you can hire a cab to Joshimath, from where you need to take the cable car or a bus to Auli.
