We had a really good experience with Chamling Holidays during our Bhutan trip. F (Read More)rom the beginning till the end, everything was properly managed. The hotels were good, clean and comfortable, and the washrooms and overall hygiene were also very well maintained. We were especially happy with the cleanliness throughout the trip. The guides and drivers were very cooperative, polite and helpful. Their behaviour was really nice, and they were always there whenever we needed any help or information. Overall, the whole trip was very smooth and comfortable. Bhutan is such a beautiful and peaceful place, and the arrangements made our experience even better. (Read More) The arrangements were well managed, the hotels and transportation were comfortable, and the overall coordination was smooth. Overall, we enjoyed the trip and appreciate the effort put into making our Bhutan experience memorable. With a slightly more flexible itinerary and better pricing, the experience could be even better.

A few suggestions for improvement: the package price could be a little more reas (Read More)onable, considering there are several additional expenses during the trip. The itinerary was also quite tight, so we sometimes felt rushed. It would have been great to have at least one relaxed day in the city, especially for shopping and exploring at our own pace.

The hotel in Paro for the last day was only thing which could have been better, (Read More)the room was too small and there was no proper ventilation. Thimpu hotel was decent, but could be better. But overall, other than Paro hotel, everything was good.

How to reach Bhutan?

By Road: There are buses , taxis that start from Kolkata to the Jaigaon-Phuentsholing. These transportations help in reaching the Bhutan Border. Another way is driving upto the any one of the three borders( Phuentsholing, Gelephu and Samdrup Jongkha) and taking a permit at the border to enter.
By Train: There are no direct trains connecting to Bhutan, however you can take a train upto Siliguri, New Alipurduar, Hasimara or New Jalpaiguri (India) and then board a bus or cab to Phuentsholing.

Do you need to pay a fee to stay in Bhutan?

Yes, if your are planning to stay in Bhutan there is a SDF(Sustainable Development Fee) to be paid by every individual visitng or staying in the country. All visitors, except Indians have to pay a fee of US $200 per person, per night. For individuals who hold Indian Passport the SDF is INR 1200 per person, per night.
Children below the age of 5 are expemted from this fee and children from 6 to 12 years of age receive a 50% concessionary discount on their SDF.
If any indiviual who holds an Indian Passport visits Bhutan for a day tour and doesnot stay for the night, he/she is exempted from paying the SDF.
