Day 1 Bagdogra - Phuentsholing

Enjoy a scenic drive through lush landscapes as you approach the Bhutanese border. Once in Phuentsholing, check into your hotel and relax for the night. Overnight in Phuentsholing.
After breakfast and permit formalities, begin your journey toward Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu. En route, visit Kharbandi Gumba and Milerapa Lhakhang, followed by a drive through the mountain town of Gedu (9,000 ft), offering spectacular vistas. Pause at the picturesque Wankha Waterfalls for a photo opportunity. On reaching Thimphu, check in at your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
Overnight in Thimphu.
Begin your day with a drive to Dochula Pass (3,150 m), offering panoramic views of the Himalayas. Continue to Punakha, where you’ll visit the revered Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple) and the majestic Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. If accessible, enjoy a peaceful walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge. Return to Thimphu in the evening.
Overnight in Thimphu.
After breakfast, dive into Thimphu’s cultural treasures. Explore the National Library, Simply Bhutan Museum, Memorial Chorten, and the grand Buddha Dordenma. Visit the Takin Reserve, Zorig Chusum School of Arts, and the Tashichho Dzong, home to Bhutan’s royal and government offices. Later, enjoy a scenic drive to Paro, passing through Chuzom (river confluence) and stopping by Tachogang Temple. Overnight in Paro.
Start with a visit to the ancient Nya Mey Zam Bridge, then continue to the stunning Rinpung Dzong. Explore Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, and enjoy panoramic views of Paro International Airport. Visit the National Museum to dive deeper into Bhutan’s heritage and admire the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery from a viewpoint. End the day by the peaceful Paro River and the historic Iron Bridge (Tamchu). Overnight in Paro.
After breakfast, begin the drive back to Phuentsholing, passing through verdant valleys and picturesque villages. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and rest after the journey. Overnight in Phuentsholing.
Bid farewell to the Land of the Thunder Dragon as you journey back to Bagdogra. Reflect on the spiritual serenity, rich culture, and unforgettable landscapes as your Bhutan adventure comes to a close. Tour ends.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable, perfectly tailored Bhutan experience! I recently booked (Read More)a customized Bhutan tour package with MemoryMakers Vacation and they exceeded all my expectations. From the very beginning, their team was responsive and attentive, creating a bespoke itinerary perfectly tailored to our needs. The accommodations were outstanding and seamlessly planned. Every single property selected for us was beautiful, clean, and offered stunning views of the surrounding valleys. The hospitality at each stay was warm and genuine, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We never felt rushed and had the exact right balance of sightseeing and relaxation. Our tour guide, Mr.Sonam was fantastic and extremely patient, and answered all our questions. Special Thanks to our driver, Mr. Doranji who navigated the winding roads safely and kept our vehicle spotless every single day. I have deducted one star as our smooth experience unfortunately fell short on the final day due to a major transport disappointment and Missed our last sightseeing. The vehicle provided for our last day towards Airport from Phuenstsheling to Bagdogra was uncomfortable, and not up to the standard of the rest of the tour. It was a frustrating end , otherwise it was beautifully curated itinerary. Despite the final day's transport issue, I would still recommend this tour, but I highly advise double-checking your vehicle arrangements.
