Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Paro Airport - Transfer to  Thimphu
  • The distance between Paro Airport and Thimphu is 65 km and would be covered in approximately 2 hours.
  • On arrival at Paro Airport, meet with smiling faces and transfer to Thimphu.
  • Upon reaching Thimphu, check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the night at leisure.
  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.
  • The distance between Thimphu and Punakha is 85 km and would be covered in approximately 3 hours.
  • Enjoy a delicious breakfast and get picked up from the hotel, tentatively at 8:30 AM, for local sightseeing as listed below.
  • After completing all the sightseeing, you will transfer to Punakha. Upon reaching Punakha, check in to the hotel and spend the rest of the night at leisure. Overnight stay in Punakha.

  • Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest):
  • It is one of the most famous monasteries in Bhutan, perched on the side of a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley floor.
  • It is said that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery, which is why it is called "Tiger's Nest".
  • This site has been recognized as a sacred place, visited by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646, and is now visited by all Bhutanese at least once in their lifetime.
  • On April 19, 1998, a fire severely damaged the main structure of the building, but this Bhutanese jewel has since been restored to its original splendor.
  • Guests will have ponies available for hire to trek to this monastery.

Overall the trip to North Sikkim with memorymakers vacation was good enough. Package cost was nearly appropriate. Without a good car and experienced driver any hilly terrain tour is not a pleasant one (Read More), but here they provided very friendly and well-behaved driver to us. In other services, the hotels (in Lachung they should change the hotel 'Sewaro Inn" for hotel owner's poor service) provided by them and hassle-free response with them in any doudts ir issues really made us happy with Memory Makers Vacation....
