Can I take my car to Sikkim?

Yes, you can take your own car to travel to Sikkim or you can get a self-drive car too, especially if you are visiting any of the unprotected areas. However, if you are planning on entering any of the protected areas which are closer to the border like Nathula Pass or Tsomgo Lake, you will need to rent a Sikkim registered vehicle from a tour operator; it must be an SUV like Bolero, Innova or Scorpio. Keep in mind to procure the necessary permits to enter these areas.

Do you need permits to visit some restricted areas?

Sikkim has various restricted zones requiring entry licenses due to its proximity to international boundaries. Foreigners must get Restricted-Area Permits to travel beyond Singhik and up the Lachung and Lachen valleys in North Sikkim. To enter any restricted zone, Indian citizens do not require a RAP.

Can you go to Sikkim by train?

Sikkim does not have a direct railway connection, and there is no railway station within the state. The nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) in the state of West Bengal. To reach Sikkim by train, you would typically need to take a train to New Jalpaiguri and then continue your journey to Sikkim by road. Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, is about 120 kilometers (75 miles) from NJP, and you can hire a taxi or use other modes of transportation to reach there.

How many days are required to visit Sikkim?

To fully appreciate the beauty and diversity of Sikkim, a duration of around 5 to 7 days is often recommended. This allows you to explore the capital city of Gangtok, visit iconic monasteries like Rumtek, and experience the natural wonders, including the stunning landscapes of Tsomgo Lake and Yumthang Valley.

Hey everyone! Huge shout-out to Badal! I’m honestly so impressed with his ser (Read More)vice. A lot of people just disappear once the sale is done, but he stayed on top of everything from start to finish to make sure the trip went perfectly. I was super skeptical about paying the deposit at first since I didn’t know him and we’re from different parts of the country, but he really earned my trust and put all my worries to rest. Thanks so much for taking such great care of us, Badal! A big thanks to the operations team as well—all the drivers were great and always on time. Aside from one stay that was a bit small and not quite up to standard, everything else was excellent. I’ll definitely be recommending your agency to my family and friends. Keep up the great work!

We had a wonderful trip covering Gangtok, Zuluk, Pelling, Darjeeling, and Kalimp (Read More)ong. The itinerary planned by Debarshi was excellent, and the hotels selected offered some of the best views of the trip. Overall, everything was well planned, and we enjoyed the trip immensely. The hotel selections, sightseeing, and overall planning were very good. Thanks to Debarshi for organizing such a memorable trip with beautiful views and wonderful experiences. Highly recommended!

The only area for improvement was Darjeeling, where we faced some issues with th (Read More)e hotel, and the three-day stay felt a little too long. In my opinion, two days would be more than enough, and even one day could be sufficient depending on the itinerary.
