Udaipur looks beuatiful during the monsoons with the lakes all filled up and the trees on full bloom. You will have a good time there.

Q. I'm based in Delhi and really wish to take a break all by myself. How is Udaipur in that way?

For a solo travel break, Udaipur is perfect in a lot of ways. Firstly, the existence of a Zostel makes it easy for a backpack traveler as it is cheap, and you also get to meet a lot of fellow travellers. Secondly, Udaipur is a very friendly city. So you can chat to the locals, gorge on some amazing local food, and spend a lot of your time by the Pichola Lake reading a good book or listening to some music.

Q. Can anyone help me with some information about the weather in Udaipur during the month of August? I am planning to do a bike ride to Udaipur from Pune..

Udaipur will see frequent rains in august, so a bike trip might be slightly difficult. But if you are fine riding in rains, then you can head there for an amazing experience and beauty.

2-3 days are enough. Udaipur is a lovely place and the weather right now is just glorious. Try the Lotus cafe and Mayur Rooftop for affordable food. Natraj Hotel Dining Hall for authentic Rajasthani food, which is pretty cheap. Autos are available for taking you around the city, which are budget friendly.

Q. I'm visiting Udaipur tomorrow and can u guys tell me what's Udaipur is known for in shopping

Nupur Kapoor

If you're in Udaipur, you should try Hathi Pol Bazaar, Bada Bazaar, or the Chetak circle. Bada Bazaar is good for camel leather items (footwear, bags) and for fabrics, tie and die and bandhini. Hathi Pol and Chetak Circle are great for artwork and handicrafts. You can also try the Lake Palace Road, which specializes in textiles.

Udaipur, the City of Lakes, needs to be visited for its local shops, souvenir hunting, majestic architecture and serene lakes. The city is divided on the basis of three lakes ? Lake Pichhola, Fatehsagar Lake and Badi Lake, which gives it its epithet. The three lakes make up the major attractions alongside with the palaces. It is necessary to keep in mind that Udaipur, is a little expensive city such that entry tickers to palaces are also highly priced than Jaipur or other places; even boat tickets are on a higher scale but food is not that expensive at good restaurants. One can visit the major attractions in the city in a 2 days duration. As I stayed for 3 days, I absolutely had nothing to do on the third day. If well planned, one can definitely visit Mount Abu for a day as Udaipur is not that expansive to require more days. A great weekend getaway from Delhi, taking an overnight journey to reach. In a 2 day trip we covered majority spots in a day and shopped next day. Don't miss the rooftop restaurants offering great view and food. The ticket charges were costly but apart from that it was beautiful. For stay hostels are great (ours was Gostops which was beautiful)

Great place to visit. Lovely lake and city. Lots of lanes. Stay in the old city and enjoy the local food and shopping as well. The cafes are really nice. Avoid April and May as it can be really hot.

- The city is a bit humid, so light cotton clothes would be best. Carry proper woolens in the Winter as night temperature can be as low as 2 degree celcius in the winters

The city of Royals, forts and Palace. I found city a bit expensive but if your love for the Forts and Places is too much its worth giving a shot.

While couples can while away their time exploring the famous parts of Udaipur, there are also some extremely fun adventure activities that can be taken up in the city. Here is a list of adventure sports that can be taken up in Udaipur : 1. Motor boat rides - These are one of the most popular water sports offered at the Fateh Sagar Lake. These boats take you around the lake and allow for an up-close view of the surrounding hills. 2. Horse Riding ? Also known as horse back safari, this is an excellent way to discover the unexplored and rural areas of Udaipur. 3. Cycling/Bike Tour ? Explore the temples of Udaipur and ride past small villages while absorbing the historic city at your own pace. 4. Paragliding - The beautiful lakes, palaces and landscapes of Udaipur make it a great destination for paragliding, which offers stunning views of the city from above. 5. Ride the ropeway ? The Mansapurna Karnimata Ropeway is an exciting activity to take up if you are fond of sunsets and want to catch an aerial way of the city. 6. Trekking ? Trekking is always a good idea if you want to check out homestays and interact with the locals of the city.

The Exquisite and Elegant Udaipur If you are fuelled by an incessant wanderlust, Udaipur is the place to be. Since childhood, the history subject always piqued my interest (yes, we exist). The city of Udaipur houses monuments and havelis rich in culture which also reveal the city?s historical past. A 3 nights 4 days trip is ample amount of time to explore the aesthetic City of Lakes. As exploring (not unwinding) was my main aim, I switched hotels every day to reduce travel time and tour even the uncharted tourist spots hidden in the city. You must visit the magnificent City Palace for starters, and then move on to the beautiful Lake Pichola, and then to Bagore Ki Haveli to breath in some history.

I visited the city of lakes on a college trip. We first went to Fateh Sagar lake, its a great place for boating and looks the best during sunset. City palace was my favourite, do keep it in your list when you visit the city. Visiting Pichola lake and the local markets was a good experience.

Udaipur is a very good place to visit. Its a combination of nature, peace and serenity. A must visit place where you will get both natural views as well as traditional rajasthani culture. Its a candy to your eyes to view mesmerizing views.

This place is a must visit in Udaipur if you are a tourist or even a resident. the best time to visit this place is evening as it is also called as sunset point. you will see a present sunset in the hills there, be sure to reach an hour before as the places gets closed as soon as sun sets. "Link Hidden". This post tells almost all the factors about Sajjan Garh (Monsoon Palace)

This is the crumbling palace on top of the hill you see looking over Udaipur. We made a call at Padharo Udaipur, and asked them to make a booking, for the driver and guide to take us there. The palace itself is fallilng apart and nothing to speak of. But the view from up on top of the hill is amazing. Don't miss it. Must say excellent service by Padharo Team, for any query just make a call, & they?ll help you out with that.

The best season to visit Udaipur is October to March. The Udaipur Palace is the biggest monument in the city. Apart from the main palace, there are three more palaces, each palace corresponding to a season. The main palace has three divisions- the residence of the royal family, the Oberoi Uday villas and the museum. There are few cafeterias inside but a number of vendors are present outside the palace. There are two museums- one which displays the splendid history of the warriors and the other which has the weapons and armaments of the royal family. Having a guide is advisable.
