Seafood is the hallmark of Teluk Bahang with a great assortment of fishes, crabs, lobsters and prawns. Nasi Kandar is one of the most famous mouth-watering rice-based dishes served with curry and is a must-try. Char Kway Teow is another nationally famous dish which wins over the heart of all tourists. The local restaurants serve an expansive range of local food with appetizing aroma. Though the well-known restaurant “The End of the World” was destroyed in the Tsunami, another restaurant by the same name and serving the same taste is a sine qua non. However, most of these restaurants and the local places only accept cash.

You can fly to Penang International Airport and drive to Teluk Bahang. The train is another option which runs from Kuala Lumpur to Butterworth offering a beautiful view of the countryside and then a ferry to Penang can be taken offering another breathtaking experience in itself. Another option is to drive to Teluk Bahang as Penang island is connected with the peninsula through bridges. Jalan Teluk Bahang connects Teluk Bahang with Balik Pulau in the South and Batu Ferringhi on the East.

State bus is the cheapest and most convenient way to travel around Teluk Bahang. It is well connected to all the places on the island. The Bus Service has several destinations including George Town, Penang International Airport, Balik Pulau and Sungai Nibong.

There is a unique Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Service for tourists which covers all the major tourist attractions in the area like Entopia Butterfly Farm, Tropical Spice Garden, Teluk Bahang Eco Park and the Penang National Park.

Private cabs and cars are also available for commuting. One might prefer taking these to cover long distances. The most interesting option is that of Trishaw (Bicycle Rentals) which one can hire to go visit places according to their own convenience.
