Tomato Industrial Museum, Santorini Overview

The Tomato Industrial Museum in Vlychada is an old factory turned into a museum dedicated to Santorini’s tomato paste industry. It showcases processing machines that date back to 1890, old tools, handwritten books, first labels, and taped videos of factory workers. Guided tours and audio tours are available in five languages.

Dimitrios Nomikos built the historical tomato factory to produce tomato paste and canned foods. It was the first factory in the Balkans to produce canned tomato products using advanced equipment. However, the production was stopped in 1981, and the museum was established in the same building in 2014. There is also a museum shop inside.
