State War Memorial, Perth Overview

The memorial built to honour the various martyrs of a number of battles comprises the Cenotaph, ANZAC Bluff Commemorative Plaque, Court of Contemplation, Flame of Remembrance and Pool of Reflection. The memorial was originally established in 1929 to honour the fallen service members of the first world war and eventually became a memorial to many of the other battles and conflicts Australian people were involved in. The memorial also consists of marble tablets and bronze plaques with the name inscriptions of various fallen Australians, both men and women, to honour them.
