Florida Everglades, Orlando Overview

Located in South Florida, 207.4 miles from Orlando, Florida Everglades is a natural World Heritage Site that is home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna. It is absolutely not safe to go for a swim at the Everglades due to the alligators. To enter the Everglades, the entrance fee is $25 per vehicle and $8 for individual entrance. People generally visit the place for two days, during which you can also engage in certain activities like boating, bird watching, bicycling, camping, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, geocaching, hiking, tours, trails, slough slogging, ranger-led programs, wildlife viewing, campfire programs, etc.

The best time to visit the Everglades is from November to March as the beauty can be best appreciated in the winter months. You can also hire airboats to get a proper view of the millions of acres of wetland preserve. The visitor center remains open from 9 am to 5 pm. Wheelchairs are available at the National Park. If you are traveling with your dog, then you do not have to be scared as dogs are allowed, however in limited areas in the National Park.
