Homosassa State Park, Orlando Overview

Also known as Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, the Homosassa State Park is the best place to view Manatees, also known as Sea Cows, and the hippopotamus Lu, who has been featured in a number of movies. It remains open from 9 am to 5:30 pm and children below the age of 5 are admitted free, those between 6-12 require a fee of $5 and those above the age of 13 require $13. Located at a distance of 86.5 miles from Orlando, the park is home to a large number of animals like black bears, bobcats, white-tailed deer, American alligators, red wolf, Key deer, flamingos, whooping cranes, and river otters.
