Lake Kissimmee, Orlando Overview

The 34,948 acre Lake Kissimmee has at least 5 islands namely Brahma Island, Sturm Island, Bird Island, Rabbit Island, and Ox Island. Certain activities that can be enjoyed at the islands are air boating, boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking, kayaking, camping, bicycling, horseback riding trails, nature viewing, etc

You might be able to spot some wildlife like bald eagles, white-tailed deer, alligators, ospreys, bobcats, turkeys, sandhill cranes, etc at the 5930 acre Lake Kissimmee State Park which remains open from 8 am to 6 pm and the entry fee is $5 per vehicle. There are also full-facility campsites, where you can spend the night. Certain species of fishes that can be found in the lake are Largemouth bass, bluegill, sunfish, black crappie, etc. In addition to that, another interesting attraction of the lake is the “Cow Camp” which depicts the history of the local cattlemen.
