Kamraj Sagar Lake, Ooty Overview
Kamraj Sagar Lake, also known as Sandynalla Reservoir, sits on the Mysore-Ooty road, making it a peaceful stop en route to Pykara. Surrounded by dense pine and eucalyptus forests, the lake's calm waters reflect the hillside landscape, offering a scenic backdrop for picnics and photography. A small causeway and viewing platform allow visitors to enjoy lakeside walks, birdwatching, and occasional fishing. The lake is best visited between March-June and September-November.
There is a wide variety of herbs and shrubs available in the terrain and a beautiful place to capture the scenic beauty in your camera. Several good movies are shot in the neighbourhood on the open roads and on the slopes of the Wendlock sagar. The water of this lake is icy cold and one can have good experience fishing in this lake.
