Kalhatti Falls, Ooty Overview
Kalhatti Falls, near Bellikkal, is a 120-foot waterfall set amidst the dense forests of the Sigur Plateau. It attracts trekkers, birdwatchers, and wildlife enthusiasts, with occasional sightings of elephants, deer, and wild buffaloes in the area. A short 2-3 km trek or descent from Kalhatti village leads to the base of the falls, while a nearby viewpoint offers scenic views from above. The best time to visit is between October and May, especially just after the monsoon when the waterfall is at its fullest. Basic facilities are limited in the area, so carrying essentials is recommended.
