New Jersey’s first state park, Swartswood State Park was established in 1914 and is famous for its recreational and leisure activities. An hour and a half away from New York, it offers some great fishing grounds near lakes Little Swartswood and Swartswood lake. Other facilities available at the park include swimming, boating, picnicking, and camping. There are around 65 tent and trailer sites with fire rings, flush toilets, and shower facilities. Group and yurt campsites are also available, giving the campers a wide range of options to choose from! Trails in the park include Duck Pond Multi-use trail, Spring Lake Trail and Grist Mail Trail.
