Runaway Rapids Waterpark

Runaway Rapids Waterpark, New York City Overview

Runaway Rapids water park is family-friendly, it is a water park where physically demanding activities make up most of the attractions. It is the responsibility of the visitors to know and understand their own physical capabilities and swimming ability so they don’t overstrain themselves before engaging in any activity at the waterpark. If visitors are “non-athletic” in nature or overweight as in body type, it is urged to be careful when choosing the activities that they choose to participate in at the waterpark. For the safety of visitors, people who are with casts, braces of any kind or recent surgery, back injuries, or women who are pregnant are not allowed to be on rides at Runaway Rapids Waterpark.

All visitors must follow all height and safety restrictions at each attraction. The height safety measures are set by the water park, the manufacturers of each ride, and the State of New Jersey. All the required height and safety requirements are posted under each attraction on the waterpark's website.

It is recommended that all guests under 4 feet and are weak swimmers or non-swimmers are requested to wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket that is available with the lifeguards at all times.

Tourists are to wear bathing suits for all water attractions in the water park.  The park stresses the use of suits for two reasons as to why proper bathing attire is needed at Runaway Rapids Waterpark:

1. Safety:  the suits are lightweight and are meant to not absorb much of the water which makes it easier for a person to swim.

2. Hygiene:  most bathing suits are worn to swim in and not for any other activities. Regular clothing or other clothing such as innerwear can introduce bacteria into the water.

Appropriate swimwear is a suit designed specifically for swimming; it is generally made of synthetic materials such as polyester, nylon, and spandex. Swimsuits that have rivets, buckles, zippers, or exposed metal are not allowed..
For the safety of all of the guests, diapers are not allowed in any pool. All babies and kids who wear diapers must wear disposable swim diapers or waterproof diaper covers before entering the water. Tourists can buy approved swim diapers that are available for purchase at The Tiki Hut which is found in the waterpark.
They do have lifeguards stationed throughout the park. The lifeguards are Ellis-trained and are situated throughout the park for safety. The main job of the lifeguards is to ensure that the guests ride attractions in the safest manner possible.

For the safety of your personal items, security lockers are available for rent at The Tiki Hut. The lockers start from $10 daily and plus a $10 deposit for a total of $20. When tourists return their locker key they will return the $10 deposit.

The following items are not allowed in the water park at any given time:

• Alcohol

• Pets

• Glass bottles

• Coolers and food from outside.
