Mountain Creek Waterpark, New York City Overview

Mountain Creek Waterpark is found in Vernon, New Jersey, United States, along the area around the Mountain Creek ski resort. The park's rides are mostly water-based attractions since it was opened in 1998. Mountain Creek Waterpark was initially called the Action Park and is considered one of the first modern water parks. It was open from early 1978 till 1996, however, it had to close down as it became notorious for its poor safety record at the time. Nonetheless, the park was a landmark in New Jersey and had always attracted adrenaline seekers from across the United States.

On February 9, 1998, after a massive renovation, which had included revamping rides and the removal of the rides that were deemed to be unsafe or outdated, the water park was inaugurated as Mountain Creek Waterpark.

Mountain Creek Waterpark offers High intensity rides most of the rides were high-speed, extreme tubing water rides. The Mountain Creek Waterpark is famous for its three and four-passenger tube ride as it begins with a steep four-story drop through a dark tunnel where the riders are dropped into a large enclosure and are gravity propelled to insane heights back and forth along the walls.

They also have a ride called the “H2 OH-NO” which is a Speed Slide that falls 99 feet in a few seconds. The next ride they have is the Colorado River Ride which offers visitors 1600 feet of pure white water adventure sports. Visitors are offered a variety of activities such as the “Tarzan Swings” which is the only one of its kind in New Jersey. The Attraction is known to send its riders flying into the air as high as the trees followed by a free fall into a deep and cool, refreshing mountain pool.

They also have rides such as the Half Pint Harbor which offers a lot of fun for young children. In this ride, the kids can splash around in the Wading Pool and play at the Fishing Village which is an interactive play fort that is complete with slides and spray fountains to dazzle children. Parents can also visit the Lost Island River where children and parents can float alongside one another on the lazy river. All ages are allowed to splash and play in the massive High Tide Wavepool which puts out 450,000 gallons of clear mountain water into the right size of waves for a delightful day of fun.

Mountain Creek Waterpark is packed with activities that can engross families for hours, it is suitable for people of all ages.  Visitors have claimed to have made fantastic memories at Mountain Creek Waterpark and you can too this summer.
