Oneuli Beach is situated towards the South Maui’s northern tip of Maluaka Wetland. Also known as Naupaka Beach, this beach is mostly visited by naturalists, residents, and experienced scuba divers. This ‘secret’ beach of Maui is a part of Makena State Park and is renowned for being a hidden paradise for the locals. Oneuli is translated in English as dark sand, which is the perfect description of the beach’s mixture of salt and pepper sand. The prominent activities to do here include snorkeling and scuba diving, along with swimming and kayaking if the weather conditions are good. Visitors can get sightings of green sea turtles, small sharks, and manta rays.
