Chingara Falls, Madikeri Overview

A singular attraction tucked between coffee estates and tropical forests, Chingara Falls is a delight for nature lovers and trekkers. Appearing like a milky dam from afar, the Falls, though pristine in their beauty and untouched yet, are now increasingly becoming popular among tourists. There is no sight more enchanting than seeing a waterfall flowing in all its might between the lush greenery of its surroundings. And such a sight is presented to you by the milky dam of water known as the Chingara Falls.

Situated between coffee estates and tropical forests, it is a perfect place to relax and take in nature's beauty after a long trek. The waterfall among many found in the serene Western Ghats of south-western India is a special treat where one can enjoy a refreshing swim or just sit back and take in the view. The Chingara Falls is usually accompanied by a trek that leads up to it, the trek which starts at Honey Valley Estate is five kilometres long with a steep ascent and descent making it a challenging task even for the fittest trekkers out there. Nonetheless, the trek through the tropical forest adds so much more to the experience and at the end of it, you get the opportunity to wash all the tiredness away by taking a swim in the cold and refreshing water, at the falls.
