Malibu Lagoon State Beach, Los Angeles Overview

Malibu Lagoon State Beach Park is a protected beach in California and is a part of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreational Area. The Malibu Lagoon is an estuary at the mouth of the Malibu Creek at the Pacific Ocean and is a stop for many migratory birds on the Pacific Flyway. It is also a nesting area for the Snowy Plovers. The beach also boasts of surfing culture and hosts many surfing tournaments throughout the year. It has three primary surfing areas where both amateurs and professionals come to surf. Rentals are available for all sorts of water sports. There are many food trucks in the vicinity of the beach. There are also many restaurants nearby where one can enjoy the taste of local as well as exotic cuisine.
