The Royal Palace of Kandy sits just north of the Temple of the Tooth and was the last seat of the Kandyan kings before British rule began in 1815.
Most of what remains today is part of the same complex as the Temple of the Tooth, the National Museum, and the Archaeological Museum, so it's usually visited as one stop rather than separately. Entry is included with the temple ticket; allow 30 to 45 minutes to see the palace rooms and artefacts.
