The best time to visit Idukki is during the Winter season (November-February). It can be visited throughout the year as well owing to its pleasant weather and scenic beauty. The township of Idukki has a variable climate when one travels from the western to the eastern side of the district. With moderate weather on the west of Idukki and a cold environment on the east part, the hill town receives heavy rainfall during monsoons in the Southwest and Northwestern parts. The summers in Idukki (March-May) are moderately warm, and the winters are mildly pleasant and chilly. Monsoons in Idukki (June - September) must be avoided as it receives heavy rainfall.
