Cheeyappara Waterfalls, Munnar Overview
Cheeyappara Waterfalls is a roadside cascade on the Kochi-Munnar highway (NH 49) in Idukki district, falling in a series of steps down the hillside. It's one of the larger waterfalls in the state and makes for an easy stop for anyone driving between Munnar and Kochi, rather than a standalone destination to plan a trip around.
Cascading through seven tiers of stones, these falls are a force of nature that you can not only see and experience but dip your toes into and enjoy. The surroundings of the waterfall complement its opulent natural splendour. Evergreen forests stretch out for as much as two acres around the falls, making it an active adventure and trekking spot. Several species of exotic plants and animals can be found in the neighbouring area, enclosed in the casket of a dense forest.
