Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Memorial Park

Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Memorial Park is a serene green space in the Nizarapar area of Chandmari, Guwahati, dedicated to the memory of the legendary Assamese singer and cultural icon Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. Opened on 7 July 2025, the park occupies a small but thoughtfully designed area and combines peaceful landscaping with cultural tribute. At one corner stands a silhouette statue of Dr. Hazarika, surrounded by flower beds and water fountains, and throughout the park you can learn about of his iconic music.

The park is family-friendly and accessible, with well-laid walkways, a gazebo for senior citizens, and children’s play equipment. There are displays that highlight Dr. Hazarika’s works—songs, writings, compositions—so you can learn about his contributions while enjoying the outdoors. It serves both as a place to unwind and a cultural stop to understand more about Assamese heritage.
