The Grand Mosque, Doha Overview

One of the largest mosques in Qatar, The Grand Mosque, devoted to Imam Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab, is perched on a hill in the Jubailat district of Doha. A pleasant blend of Arabic and modern architecture can be seen in the Grand Mosque, with distinct domes, sparkling crescent moons, a minaret and open outdoor areas.

Built on an area of 175 000 sq mts, the Grand Mosque can simultaneously accommodate 10,000 men and 1300 women in their respective praying areas. In addition, it can host up to 30,000 people simultaneously. The mosque has 17 side entrances and 3 main doors. In addition, the mosque has restrooms in the basement, unique prayer rooms for men and women, and a VIP room (inaccessible to non-muslims). Tourists are not bound to dress similarly to Qatari Muslims but are expected to wear decent attires to respect the Islamic Traditions.
The mosque is open to all visitors, including non-muslims!
