Katara Mosque, Doha Overview

The Katara Mosque, located in the heart of Katara Cultural Village, is a stunningly ornamented structure with an outstanding minaret, mosaic tiles, inscriptions, and other artistic handicrafts. The calligraphic panels are made of 24K gold-leafed glass mosaic tiles. It is inspired by architectural styles from Turkey, Turkmenistan, Syria, and northern Persia. Zainab Fadil Oglu, a renowned Turkish mosque architect, designed the Mosque.

The mihrab, minaret, and domes feature golden details in their design. Religious gatherings and lectures are hosted regularly inside the mosque. Tourists can visit other attractions such as The Katara Amphitheatre, Opera house, art gallery, beach, and Golden Mosque within the Katara Cultural Village. There are several popular cafes and restaurants in the near vicinity as well.
