Kavadi Kere, Dandeli Overview

Kavadi Kere is a beautiful lake located at a distance of 10 kms from Magod falls. There is a temple is dedicated to the goddess 'Kavadiamma' or popularly known as goddess Durga. It is often also associated with the legend of Mahabharata and is believed to be the lake that was built by Bheem after Goddess Durga blessed him.

There is a well-constructed road that leads to this temple. It is a belief that the Kavadikeri Lake temple dates back to the Dwapara Yuga (third of the four yugas as mentioned in the Hindu scriptures). The temple premises are also known as Shree Kshetra. You can spot the red and black-crested Bulbul and the river Lapwing here. Also, you can find beautiful wild orchids growing around the lake.
