Lakeside Park, Dallas Overview

Situated in the posh Highland Park and next to Turtle Creel, Lakeside Park is a 14-acre piece of lush green land with a lot to offer. While the park is excellent for taking a stroll or jogging in the morning, or for picnics, it is known more so for its architectural elements: Teddy Bear Sculptures and Read Memorial.

There is a bridge over the Turtle Creek Dam that provides the best view of the sculptures, memorial as well as the park’s boundless greenery. Gorgeous azalea bushes are spread out all throughout the park between the months of March and April, and it also provides a superb view of the annual Fourth of July fireworks display by the Dallas Country Club. There are quite a few ducks here as well.
