Chiang Mai Historical Centre

Located right in the centre of Chiang Mai Old City, Chiang Mai Historical Centre is a store of Thailand's interesting history tracing the beginnings of Chiang Mai. Made in traditional Lanna style, the centre uses interactive methods of information such as waxworks, models, dioramas, description boards and real life ruins from an ancient temple.

Since its interactive displays tell each story in a new way, it makes it fascinating for kids, especially to learn about how the Chiang Mai traditional lifestyle. For visitors from around the world or non-Thai speakers, these short and easy to understand displays are in several languages as well.

Positioned opposite to the Three Kings Monument, a display of old temple ruins found at the centre's basement was eventually incorporated into the Historical Centre's building process. Also nestled opposite the Three Kings Monument is the Lanna Folklife Centre featuring 18 different exhibitions with several historical artefacts of wax dolls and traditional costumes.
