Baanchang Elephant Park, Chiang Mai Overview

Baan Chang Elephant Park is a conservative sanctuary dedicated to the care and well-being of Asian elephants. They offer programs which offer guidance for proper communication, feeding, bathing and riding of elephants. Their mahout training sessions are useful in understanding the needs of young and old elephants, aiming at bringing man and nature closer.

Run by a Thai family, Baanchang Elephant Park has loved and cared for Asian elephants for over three decades. Situated in a small, rural village in Chiang Mai, Baanchang Elephant Park focuses on practising ethical and sustainable elephant tourism. They aim at not only saving and caring for elephants but also educating the general public regarding elephant welfare.

The park is strictly against abusive and unnatural practices and does not offer any elephant rides. They also focus on providing the interaction between the elephants and the humans, thus creating awareness concerning the behaviour of these gentle giants. There is no better place to learn about these magnificent creatures than in their natural habitat, within a relaxed environment.
