Exploring Mon Jam during weekdays is more fun than on the weekends as interacting with local families and getting a seating at the bamboo restaurant is comparatively easier.

It is highly recommended to not plan your trip to the Mon Jam during the monsoons. Because the steep slopes and muddy roads can be tricky to travel on during this time of the year. And it is comparatively unsafe.

How to Reach Mon Jam

This place that is surrounded by lush greenery is just about 45 minutes away from the city of Chiang Mai. You can travel to Mon Jam via a motorbike, private car or hire a cab. The highway no. 107 will lead you to this quiet location in the downtown area of Chiang Mai. There are signs all along the way so you need not be worried about getting lost. Also, the roads might be a little steep but do not pose any danger to cautious drivers.

Tips

In case you plan on travelling to this location on a bike make sure you wear all your safety gears. And if you are not a biker we most definitely suggest you to rather take a car because it can be tricky riding through a few sharp turns and curves. Having said that if you have experienced riding a motorcycle in a rocky terrain then this will be a cakewalk for you. Make sure you keep yourself hydrated while travelling along this area because the trip can make you feel very fatigued by the end of it.
