Boulders Penguin Colony, Cape Town Overview

Boulders Penguin Colony, located on Boulders beach, is a nature reserve home to a colony of 3000 African penguins. It is the only place where you can see the penguins closely. The best time is during the breeding season, from March to May. A boardwalk winds around the Boulders beach, giving a clear view of the dunes and the penguins.

The Boulders Beach is also home to many dunes divided by large boulders from where it derives its name. The Boulders Beach is also very popular for its gentle waves (making swimming easy even for kids) and clear rock pools. Parking is available at either end of the reservation on Seaforth Road and Bellevue Road.
