The Sun Dhoka is the entrance to the 55 Windows Palace, a gilt-copper doorway framed by Garuda and a four-headed Taleju above the lintel, every surface of it worked. Percival Landon called it the most lovely piece of art in the whole kingdom, and it is still the thing most visitors photograph first in Durbar Square. Look up at the torana before you walk through it.
