Taman Werdhi Budaya, Bali Overview
Taman Werdhi Budhaya art centre in Denpasar is one of the most well known cultural hubs of Bali. Featuring theatres and galleries that can accommodate over 500 people, the centre is home to all kinds of Balinese creativity- from paintings and sculptures to dance and drama performances. Ideally visited during the Bali Arts Festival in June-July.
Founded by the former Governor of Bali, Mr. Ida Bagus Mantra in 1979 to preserve Bali's rich and varied cultural heritage, Taman Werdhi Budaya has become the designated venue for the annually held Bali Arts Festival. During the festival, gamelan performances, shadow puppet shows, and more are exhibited.
