Anne Frank House

Anne Frank House is where the famous writer Anne Frank and her family stayed in hiding from the Nazis. It has now been turned into a museum showcasing Anne Frank's journey during those terrifying times. The house is located on Prinsengracht 263 in Amsterdam.

The house served as a perfect hiding spot for two years, and this is the same place where she wrote the best selling and the inspiring book The Diary of a Young Girl. Though she couldn’t survive the holocaust, his father Otto Frank made every effort to spread the words of her daughter across every soul on this earth, and her book continues to inspire every reader even today. With the growing popularity of the book, her house got converted into a tourist spot and a museum where every visitor could witness the struggles jews faced at that time.  Otto Frank, Anne’s father, rented the entire building in 1940 for his office work. When they were called at the labour camp in Germany, they went into hiding in the same building. The entrance to their room was disguised as a bookshelf, and secret staircases were made inside the house. The office related work was done on the ground and first floor, and the Frank family lived in the second and third floors. Hence, no one would ever notice that a Jewish family was living there for 2 years.
