There is much debate about what the 10 feet tall Kushtarajagala Statue represents. Locals believe it is the statue of a prince suffering from a skin disease (kushta), while archaeologists think it depicts a Bodhisattva, a person destined for nirvana. Nevertheless, locals worship this statue that is carved onto the face of a boulder for relief from diseases, and visitors can enter anytime.
