Midigama Beach, Weligama Overview

Relax at the Beach
you will not find any other beach in the country which is as fresh as Midigama beach in Mirissa. The locals make sure that no little is thrown anywhere outside the bins, and they take extra efforts to encourage tourists to use the trash cans as well. The distance from the noise really helps. With little to no hawkers, you can relax and enjoy your quiet time reading or watching the ocean while you lay on your towel, beach mat or beach chairs

Snorkeling and Surfing
The clean water here is perfect to go on a snorkeling tour with your friends or guides. There are many guides available nearby who will be happy to help you. You can either bring your snorkeling gear or rent them from here. The place is favorite amongst beginner and intermediate surfers as well. You can learn the basics of surfing from the experts. Renting a board can be as cheap as 150 INR.

Whale and Dolphin Watching
You can spot many unique turtles, fish and other aquatic animals that are exclusive to Sri Lanka. Tourists here especially enjoy whale- and dolphin-watching during the season. The lucky ones spot dolphin schools swimming near them just one hour into their trip!
