Virachey National Park Tourism
Virachey is a national park located across Ratanakiri and Stung Treng Provinces in north-eastern Cambodia. It is one of the two Cambodian ASEAN Heritage Parks, rich in an ecosystem comprising of marshlands, deciduous rainforests, rivers and wildlife.
The remotely located park attracts tourists for its lush mountains home to jungles, beautiful landscapes consisting of valleys, rivers, wildlife and waterfalls. Travelers can camp at night and take up multiple days guided trekking tours in the national park.

Things to Do
Trekking - Trekking in Virachey National Park is one of the top things to do. Several trails are covering different distances and terrain, in all range of difficulty levels. You don't need a prior hiking experience, although fitness would be required. It is only possible to do organised treks though, which needs to be booked through the Virachey National Park Eco-Tourism Information Centre in BanLung.
Wildlife tours - Visitors can also sign up for organized wildlife tours booked via the information centre. It would take tourists through wild trails where they can sometimes spot elephants, leopards, deers, monkeys, bears and wild boars. Along with this, people can watch endangered gibbons, hornbills, giant ibis and other rare birds.
Itinerary
Day 1 & Day 2: Book a trek along one of the trails in the national park. Camp overnight and come back to Banlung after an adventurous hike in the wild.
Day 3: Take a Wildlife Safari tour and spot the rare wildlife if you get lucky.
Tips
Carry proper shoes for trekking, raincoats, mosquito repellants, umbrellas, essential medicines and other necessary things that you might need for hiking and general travel
If you want to camp on your own, you can do so with your tents and sleeping bags. But you need to get permits via tour operators to do so.
It is recommended to book your accommodation in advance for a hassle-free trip. The limited guesthouses and hotels get booked quickly during the high season.
