Virachey National Park - The western end of this national park is accessible from Stung Treng at Siem Pang, a small town on the Tonle Kong. Kayaking & Boat trips in the Mekong - The intersections of rivers offers splendid places to go boating in the rivers. You can also go Kayaking to the north bordering Laos for spotting rare Irrawaddy dolphins. Boat trips take you through distant islands scattered in the basins comprising of fishing villages, palm trees and mangrove forests. The boat trips cost about 15 USD per person and Kayaks can be rented for about 5 to 6 USD.


There are just a few ATMs and cash is required for all transactions. It is suggested to carry enough money. Carry essential items like umbrellas, mosquito repellants, sunscreen and flip flops for spending time in Stung Treng.
