teamLab Planets TOKYO is a barefoot digital art museum in Toyosu, Koto City, where visitors move through four large-scale installations and two gardens created by the teamLab collective. Shoes come off at the entrance: guests wade knee-deep through a mirrored water room, climb a floating-flower garden, and pass through rooms of shifting projected light and sound. Open since July 2018, it is one of Tokyo's most-visited attractions, rated 4.5 stars across more than 55,000 Google reviews, with a strong following among Instagram and short-video travellers. Advance online tickets are required.
Located near Toyosu Station, teamLab Planets TOKYO (jointly branded with DMM.com) turns visitors into part of the artwork rather than passive viewers. Several rooms are designed to be walked through barefoot or ankle-deep in water, so socks and shoes are stored at the entrance. Highlights include a reflective water room where light ripples with each step, a floating flower garden that changes with the seasons, and a mirrored space filled with hanging illuminated orbs. The museum's exhibition period has been confirmed through the end of 2027. It is heavily booked in advance, and its water and mirror rooms are among the most photographed spots in Tokyo.
