Shibuya Sky, Tokyo Overview
Shibuya Sky's top level is an open rooftop roughly 230 metres above the street, with nothing between you and the city. It opened in November 2019 on the roof of Shibuya Scramble Square, and the 2,500 square metre rooftop looks directly down on the Shibuya scramble crossing, which is the one thing Tokyo Sky Tree and Tokyo Tower cannot show you. A further 3,000 square metres of indoor viewing space sits below it for wind, rain and winter evenings.
The Shibuya card on this list covers the crossing and the streets around it at ground level; this is the same district read from above, and the two work best on the same afternoon. The route up runs through the 14th floor, then the 45th and 46th, before the escalator to the roof. Entry is by advance online reservation for a set time slot, and evening slots sell out earliest, so book before you arrive in Tokyo rather than on the day. The building sits directly on top of Shibuya station, so there is no walk involved.
