Surakarta is a beautiful town which is situated in Eastern Java. The city is beautiful with broad tree-lined streets and many historic buildings. Another highlight of Surakarta is that it is the birthplace of the current President of Indonesia- Joko Widodo who previously served as the Mayor of Surakarta.
The city is also home to a bubbling market with densely populated agricultural areas selling tobacco, rice, sugar, coconut, fruits, and vegetables. The other vast products include local handicrafts like pottery, wood, carvings and musical instruments.

Surakarta has a tropical and humid climate for most of the year and the average temperatures rarely vary. All this makes Sukarta hot for the most part of the year with rainfall occurring for half the year.
