How to reach Sabarimala by road

Road KSRTC run Sabrimala special buses ply from the arrival gate every 2 minutes up to a certain point of the mountain, after which people have have to trek up by foot. Usually, pilgrims travel to Sabrimala by foot. One the way, three rivers have to be crossed. This 45 km tour ends at the Pamba River.

How to reach Sabarimala by train

The nearest railway station is at either Thiruvalla or Chenganoor, both about 30 km from the foot hill. Tourists may travel via train upto Kottayam, Ernakulam or Chenganur and continue the rest of the journey on bus.

Local transport in Sabarimala

From the base camp to Sannidhanam, one has to travel by foot. For people who find it difficult to walk, special palanquin service known as Dolly operates for a fee of Rs. 1000 plus tip charges. You can buy the palanquin from the Publicity office in the basecamp. Farm donkeys or horses can also be hired to be taken to Sannidhanam.
