It is ideal to go rafting in Rishikesh in the months of February to June, and again from Mid September to Mid December. If you decide to go during the dry season, you will be able to enjoy the various adventure activities more freely, and you can also camp along the river.

Rafting usually begins in the first half of the day. You could avoid the weekends during the peak season, as it gets really crowded, owing to Rishikesh's popularity and proximity to Delhi. A trip to Rishikesh is a holy visit amongst the majestic Himalayan foothills besides the Ganges river. The tranquilizing beauty, architectural marvels, grand temples as well as by the adventurous Spo (Read More)rts provided, one can experience two opposite worlds. Out of all places to visit following are the best ones - Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula, The Beatles Ashram, Shivpuri, Neelkanth Mahadev temple and Triveni Ghat. Apart from these Neer Garh waterfall trek shouldn't be missed. To relive the oldest days, do visit the Swarg Ashram.

Laxman Jhula is a very nice place. I just love this place. The best part of this place is when the vehicle crosses the bridge it shakes.

Rishikesh is a place for everybody since here you can not only indulge in adventure activities like bunjee jumping, rafting, trekking, rock climbing and cliff jumping, you can also check into one of (Read More)the many ashrams here and learn to meditate, or take lessons in yoga and Hindu philosophy. This place is famous for astrolgy and palmistry centres, but not all of them are genuine. Make sure to stay away from con men and the so-called saints offering private tutoring. Do not annoy the monkeys here as they can become quite aggressive. Avoid sneaking in alcohol as this is a dry city and the rules regarding alcoholic beverages and non-vegetarian food are pretty stringent.

Stay safe on the suspension bridge located seventy meters above the river flowing below as it swings from side to side while you are walking. The bridge as well as the roads around tend to get crowde (Read More)d owing to the two-wheelers, buffaloes, cows and oxen. The surroundings get dirty due to the aforementioned animals. Nowadays, the pedestrians pollute the place too. The bridge is not very wide, but in spite of it, people stop in between to click pictures, feed monkeys, buy trinkets and so on. These make it even more crowded. You will find several food joints here, although the cuisine consists only of vegetarian food. Alcohol is strictly prohibited.
