Kolahoi Glacier Trek, Pahalgam Overview
Kolahoi Glacier, above the Lidder River, is a hanging glacier reachable only by trekking, though ponies or horses can be hired for parts of the route. The terrain is challenging and not recommended for inexperienced trekkers. Locals know it as the Goddess of Light.
This five-kilometer-long trek of the hanging glacier is truly an experience of a lifetime. Located in the Anantnag District of Jammu and Kashmir, this glacier is situated at a height of 5,425 meters and is a part of the Kolahoi Peak. The Kolahoi Glacier is the highest glacier in Kashmir and this trek will take you through the most mesmerizing views of the Kashmir Valley. Throughout the trek, you will cross several coniferous forests, magnificent waterfalls, several alpine lakes, green meadows, Lidder riverbank, and enchanting lakes.
