Alyko Beach

Alyko beach, Naxos Overview

A popular beach in Naxos, Alyko beach is one of the largest and most beautiful. Named after the Aliko peninsula, it is usually quiet. There aren’t many shops and stores around the coast compared to other famous beaches, keeping Alyko more natural and crowd free. Located in an isolated bay, Alyko remains protected from harsh winds, making it a safe zone for children to swim and snorkel.

Alko beach is further divided into four beaches: Aliko, Micro Aliko, Kedros, and Hawaii.A nudist-friendly area is also available at this beach. The closest beaches to Alyko are Glyfada beach and Pyrgaki beach. A cedar forest with giant sand dunes is located right above Alyko, which was recently declared a protected natural reserve. Buses go between Naxos to Aliko over six times a day and are the most convenient way to reach the beach. Since several other beaches of the Aliko peninsula make it before this beach from Naxos, Alyko beach retains its crowd-free status.
