Boasting one of the best beaches in all of Mauritius, Trou aux Biches stretches for over 2 kilometres. Known as the longest beach, with crystal clear turquoise waters, Trou aux Biches has several water sports from water skiing, snorkelling, scuba diving to parasailing, glass-bottom boat rides. Compared to other beaches in Mauritius, the Trou aux Biches beach is relatively much less crowded and mostly frequented by the locals. Most beaches in Mauritius are bound by coral reefs and corals washing up ashore, however, Trou aux Biches beach is completely clear of coral making it ideal for swimming.

Lining the beachfront are food and beverage stalls and plenty of hotels, resorts, restaurants and pubs right beside the coastline, the Trou aux Biches beach is one of the best places to spend an idle afternoon.

Aside from the beach, the other attractions you can visit in Trou aux Biches are the Maheswarnath temple and the Trou aux Biches casino.
  • Built back in the 1800s, the Maheswarnath temple, located near Triolet, is one of the oldest temples on the island, and is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Situated in one of the most commercialised cities of Mauritius, 'Grand Baie' the Mont Choisy beach is a remote beach lined by rows of casuarina trees along the coastline. In contrast to Trou aux Biches beach, Mont Choisy beach has no restaurants or shops lining the waterfront. Hence, there aren't any water activities either, making it the perfect beach to go to relax and sunbathe. Mont Choisy remains undisturbed except for a few times when you'll find mobile vendors frequenting the beach.
