Lower Puohokamoa Falls

The Lower Puohokamoa Falls is situated by the Hana Highway, between 10-11 mile marker. It is a part of two waterfalls of Puohokamoa Falls: the Upper Puohokamoa Falls and the Lower Puohokamoa Falls.

Among these two waterfalls, the most accessible one is the Upper Puohokamoa Falls. But the falls are now nestled within a private property and aren’t open to the public. And the Lower Puohokamoa Falls is hidden from plain sight, which makes the falls truly a hidden gem. This 200-foot waterfalls is situated right below the Hana Highway and requires a hike to get to the destination. The hike is preferably suited for seasoned hikers, but the view of the waterfall at the start of the trail is worthwhile, too. But keep in mind, the trail to Lower Puohokoma Falls is said to be on private land, so if there’s a sign that says private property, do turn around.
