Hana highway drive

The hana highway drive is one of the highlights of Maui. ItÍs a 3 hour eye opening return drive from Kahalui, with over 600 turns and majestic pacific view, roads cutting through lush green trees and caves, this takes up about an entire day.

Nature lovers do not have to give it a second thought. Rent a car at Kahalui and begin this spectacular journey around the Maui mainland. At the end, you would find the Oheo Gulch area which features a 400 ft waterfall, however an incentive only for those who aren't lazy enough to catch the trail to reach it. Your car should have sufficient amount of gas, with food and water for the day due to the remoteness of the area. On your way, there are few roadside stands, one of them being 'Maui's 8th wonder Taco Stand' which is popular among tourists. However, there is a little secret of this drive, a lava tube. Made my molten lava, this tube is dark and dingy, with dried lava still dripping from its roof. Curiosity could make you really like this hidden gem of Hana.
